The 1st Annual Midland Wine & Music Festival is set for October 4-5, 2013 at the Midland Center and Centennial Plaza. This is a true celebration of Texas ~ Texas Wines, Texas Music and Texas Cuisine. We’re bringing together libations, vibrations, and great Texas foods in downtown Midland in a salute to Texas culture and traditions. Come and join in on the fun along with Texas Wineries, many local restaurants and mobile kitchens, Texas food purveyors and specialty food manufacturers.

This year's musical entertainment is amazing with multicultural genres that all come under the hat of Texas Music. Grammy Award winning guitarist Redd Volkaert and his side guys will dazzle you with their instrumental performance. Redd is one of our countries' top "Telecaster Guitar Slingers." The Almost Patsy Cline Band from Bandera is a very popular "dance band" in San Antonio as well as across the Hill Country and Texas. Their repertoire ranges from Bob Wills' favorites to Patsy Cline's hits and more. Better bring your dancing shoes when they are playing! Romantic Flamenco Dancing featuring Olivia Chacon and Claire Spera from Alante Flamenco of Austin with Jose Tejeda on the Flamenco guitar and Isai Chacon as Cante. An Austin Cajun treat, Charles Thibodeaux and the Austin Cajun Aces will be playing traditional French Cajun Music Style that's quite refreshing and keeps everybody's toes tapping. The Drugstore Cowboys have been playing Texas Music in San Antonio and the Hill Country for over 40 years. You can catch them in Luckenbach, Torre, or Flores Country Store. They play a variety of musical styles and have several CDs to their credit. Dub Robinson is the band's leader and Jan Zerda is the group's fantastic female vocalist. Dub's quote for you is "We love dancing and enjoy a good party, get ready Midland." The Chris Story Band from Kerrville is one of the best dance bands in Texas. Chris is a very talented musician who plays the fiddle, saxophone, and guitar in addition to his great vocals. This band plays the kind of music that will make you want to snuggle on the dance floor.

Texas cuisine is so diverse. It ranges from enchiladas to barbeque and steaks to fresh gulf shrimp. If you cant' find a home in Texas cuisine, then brother you're really lost! Something is sure to tickle your taste buds.
